I am absolutely delighted to say that Calderdale Council has overwhelmingly supported my motion opposing any future plans to add artificial fluoride to drinking water in Calderdale. The wording of the motion is:
"This Council expresses to the Strategic Health Authority (SHA) its opposition to the artificial fluoridation of our water supplies as it believes that mass medication through the water supply to be unethical and therefore totally unacceptable.
“This Council recommends to Cabinet that it instructs Council Officers to undertake public consultation on artificial fluoridation, should the Strategic Health Authority decide to progress the water fluoridation scheme for NHS Bradford and Airedale, and NHS Kirklees"
It is incredibly encouraging that the vast majority of Councillors were able to support this motion, which reinforces the stance the Council has adopted since the 1970’s.
However it is essential that people continue to register their opposition right up until the Strategic Health Authority announces the results of its study. So please keep encouraging family and friends to sign up!

Thank you for your support
